Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Princeton on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Mia Mascone finished with four goals and three assists in No. t25 Brown's (9-4, 2-3 Ivy) 23-10 setback to No. 17 Princeton (8-4, 4-1 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Mascone moves to 77 points in 2024, one shy of tying Lauren Becker '87 (1986) for most points scored in a season. Greta Criqui collected two goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mascone got rolling 35 seconds into the quarter with a goal for a 1-0 Bears lead.
After Princeton took a 5-1 lead, Criqui's draw control led to a quick Mascone goal as momentum shifted to the Bears. Moments later, Criqui scored off the Mascone assist to cut the Tiger lead to 5-3.
Princeton added three goals before Leah Caputo's free position goal with 5:07 remaining in the first. The Tigers and Bears traded goals as Julia Ford found the net.
Criqui scored again in the closing seconds of the quarter to make it 9-6.
Princeton scored eight goals in the second and the Bears added one as the Tigers went into the half ahead 17-7.
The second half featured goals by Sydney Rathjen, and two by Mascone. Princeton moved to 4-1 with the 23-10 victory.
