Softball Finishes Up Road Schedule With Contest at Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball heads across town to take on Providence College on Wednesday in the final non-conference game of the season for Brown.
The matchup with the Friars will begin at 6 p.m. at will be streamed on FloSports.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown holds a 17-21 overall record on the season and is coming off a series win at Princeton last weekend. It was the first series win for Brown over Princeton since 1997.
- Alexis Guevara was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for her two wins against the Tigers.
- Jasmine Hsiao leads Brown with a .360 average, 41 hits, 25 runs, two triples and 15 stolen bases on 16 attempts. Hsiao is tied with Laurel Moody and Dara English for the team lead with 11 doubles.
- English is tops on the team with 24 RBI and Moody is second having driven 21 runs in this year.
- Guevara leads Brown's pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA in a team high 129.2 innings. Macy Borowski is second on the team with a 3.80 ERA in 88.1 innings.
- Providence is 20-21-1 overall this season and won its three-game series against Georgetown 2-1 over the weekend.
- The Friars boast a 10-6 record on their home field.
- Providence is hitting .279 as a team with Hanna Aldrich leading the way at .336.
- Sofia Peterson leads the team with seven home runs and Jacque Harrington has five.
- Alyssa Twomey holds a 13-6 record on the season with a 3.07 ERA and 125 strikeouts to just 64 walks.
- Brown has lost nine-straight games to Providence including a 3-2 loss last season in eight innings.
