Men's Lacrosse Heads to Harvard for Regular Season Finale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (3-10, 2-3 Ivy League) look to extend the season on Saturday against the Harvard Crimson (7-5, 1-4 Ivy League) in the regular season finale at Jordan Field.

The Bears earn the fourth and final Ivy League Tournament spot with a win over the Crimson and a Princeton loss to Yale.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

The Bears enter Saturday with a 2-1 record in its last three games and a 2-3 Ivy League mark.
Three of Brown's losses have been by three goals or fewer with two losses coming in overtime.
The offense averages 9.23 goals per game and is led by junior Aidan McLane's 30 goals and 35 points. Seven other Bears have double digit points this season, including sophomore Marcus Wertheim (16 points).
Brown's man-up offense clicks at .316 (12-for-38) with McLane leading the pack with five EMO goals.
Defensively, Brown allows 12.42 goals per game with Connor Theriault between the pipes. Theriault holds a .505 save percentage and 12.80 goals against average. Over the last seven games, he holds a .540 save percentage.
Brown's man-down defense leads the Ivy and ranks 14th nationally at .736 (39-for-53).
Dash Sachs has taken the bulk of the faceoffs this season and has a .490 win-rate. His 5.77 ground balls per game are tied for 29th in the NCAA.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON

Harvard enters Saturday's regular season finale with a 7-5 overall record and 1-4 Ivy League mark.
Four of Harvard's losses this season have been by three or fewer goals and all five losses have come against nationally ranked teams.
Harvard's offense averages 14.17 goals per game to rank third in the Ivy and 10th in the NCAA.
Sam King leads the Crimson with 36 goals and 33 assists for 69 points. His 3.00 goals per game are ninth nationally, his 2.75 assists per game are 11th nationally, an his 5.75 points per game rank second in the nation.
Harvard's man-up offense has 19 goals in 30 attempts (.633) to lead the Ivy League and rank second nationally.
The Crimson's clear percentage enters Saturday at .890 to lead the Ivy.
Defensively, Harvard allows 12.00 goals per game to rank third in the Ivy League and 50th nationally.
Christian Barnard has started all 12 games this season and holds a .505 save percentage and 12.10 goals against average.
Harvard's man-down defense ranks sixth in the Ivy at .610 (25-for-38).
Andrew DeGennaro has taken the bulk of the faceoffs this season and holds a .438 win-rate at X (113-for-258). He leads the Crimson with 56 ground balls.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Saturday marks the 72nd meeting between Brown and Harvard dating back to 1926.
Both teams have won 36 games in the series and Brown holds a 19-22 road record.
The series has been extremely close in the last 20 meetings with Harvard taking 11 wins and both teams scoring 206 goals.
Brown has outscored Harvard, 121-115, in the last 10 meetings.

BACK IN IT

With critical wins over Princeton and Dartmouth, the Brown Bears jumped back into the thick of the Ivy League Tournament race.
Brown needs to beat Harvard on Saturday and have Yale take down Princeton to earn the fourth and final playoff spot.
Cornell, Yale, and Penn have already clinched berths in the 2024 Ivy League Tournament.
Cornell secures the top seed and right to host the tournament with a win at Dartmouth.
