Sailing Completes Full Weekend of Competition

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown University sailing teams have wrapped up another full weekend of competition, finishing within the top five at all four events.

The #4 coed sailing team of Martin Atilla, Blake Behrens, Janelle Li, Olivia Miller, Catherine Morrissette, Ethan Simpson and Mason Stang finished in second place out of seven teams at the Jumbo Team Race at Tufts University. The Bears ultimately lost the tiebreaker for first place against the University of Rhode Island and finished the event with a 14-4 record.

Vera Allen, Guthrie Braun, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Emily Mueller, Connor Nelson, Liam O'Keefe, Camren Spriggs, and Savannah Young represented Brown at the Cardinal Red Lynne Marchiando Trophy Race at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The team ended with a 11-7 record, finishing in third place out of seven teams.

The #4 ranked women's sailing team finished fourth out of 11 teams at the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race at home. Charlotte Costikyan, Katharine Doble, Francesca Edmands, Kaitlyn Hamilton, Katherine Majette, Katherine McNamara, Brianna Ross, Lily Shore, and Brielle Willoughby competed in this event. The Bears finished with a 9-7 record at the regatta.

The last event that the Bears competed in is the BU Trophy Fleet Race. Brown finished in fifth place out of 11 teams.

The Bears will be back in action with four regattas this weekend, including the Fowle Trophy at home.
