
Men's Tennis Falls to #45 Florida Atlantic University

BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Brown University men's tennis team continued their spring break play against #45 Florida Atlantic University on Friday. The Bears fell short with a final score of 5-2.
FAU earned the doubles point after beating out the Bears in first and second doubles. "This tennis match showcased highly contested, intense competition and commendable sportsmanship. Despite narrowly missing out on a crucial doubles point, our doubles performance remains a cornerstone of our team's consistency and strength," Head Coach Alex Kasarov said.
The Bears earned their first point in second singles when Alex Finkelstein beat FAU's Juan Martin Jalif in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-1). Zander Bravo gave Brown their second point at the fifth line in two sets (3-6, 78-66). Florida Atlantic collected the four remaining singles points to win the match.
"In singles, we displayed resilience by consistently putting ourselves in winning positions. It was inspiring to witness every member of our singles lineup exerting their utmost effort, demonstrating a commitment to excellence from top to bottom. Our team rallied with unwavering support on the court and from the sidelines, enhancing our collective performance. The bond among our athletes continues to deepen, fostering a sense of trust and belief in one another that is vital to our success," said Kasarov.
"As we reflect on this match and prepare for the challenges ahead, we will dedicate our upcoming practice sessions to refining specific aspects that demand our attention. This weekly regimen of improvement underscores our relentless pursuit of excellence. We eagerly anticipate the start of Ivy's play in Hanover next Friday, poised to showcase our progress and determination on the court."
