Kasarov enters his fourth season as the head coach of the men's tennis program in 2023-24.
Kasarov comes to College Hill after serving as the associate head coach at his alma mater, Wisconsin, since 2018. With the Badgers, Kasarov headed intensive scouting and recruiting for the program, both nationally and internationally, and tactfully developed a signature method for video analysis of team and opponents, in turn, guiding two doubles teams to national rankings.
Prior to his stint at Wisconsin, Kasarov was the head coach at Monmouth for two years, leading the Hawks to NCAA tournament appearances and MAAC conference championships in both seasons. He earned MAAC Coach of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons and piloted Monmouth to record of 28-25, including a perfect 18-0 mark in conference play. Under his watch, Monmouth featured the MAAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2018 as a total of 12 of his singles players and six doubles teams earned All-MAAC honors. That success included guiding Nicola Pipoli to an ITA national ranking, the first in school history.
Kasarov came to Monmouth following two seasons as an assistant coach at Davidson and one year as a volunteer assistant coach for Northwestern's women’s tennis team. A veteran of the coaching circuit, Kasarov also spent time as a club professional and private tennis instructor for eight years in the greater Chicago area.
A 2004 All-Big Ten selection, Kasarov was a four-time letterwinner and former captain of the Wisconsin team. Kasarov competed at both No. 1 singles and doubles for three seasons in Madison (2003-05), earning team MVP honors as a junior in 2004. A native of Bourgas, Bulgaria, Kasarov earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UW in 2005.
