
Men’s Tennis Drops Ivy Opener to Yale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team (15-8, 0-1 Ivy) dropped its Ivy League opener to Yale (14-5, 1-0 Ivy), 1-6, on Saturday afternoon inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
In doubles play, Ivan Sodan and Lukas Phimvongsa were topped 1-6 by Vignesh Gogineni and Edward Liao. Noah Hernandez and Zander Bravo secured a 6-4 win over Dylan Tsoi and Jason Shuler, and Elliot Wasserman and Cole Oberg were edged by Jim Ji and Eric Li in a tight 6-7 (3-7) decision.
In singles, Sodan fell to Gogineni 2-6, 3-6, and Phimvongsa was topped by Liao with a 3-6, 3-6 result. Hernandez pushed Shuler to three sets before falling 6-4, 3-6, 1-6, while Robert Yang put Brown on the board with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ji. Wasserman was outlasted by Li, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6, and Bravo fell to Tsoi with a 6-7, 4-6 defeat.
Brown will continue Ivy League play when it welcomes Columbia to the Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday, Apr. 4, at 1 p.m.
