Men’s Tennis Topped by No. 30 Cornell, 4-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team (15-10, 0-3 Ivy) fell to No. 30 Cornell (13-3, 1-1 Ivy), 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
In doubles, Noah Hernandez and Zander Bravo were topped by No. 65, Eric Verdez and Rodrigo Fernandes, 6-3 at the first line. Elliot Wasserman and Robert Yang were defeated by Felipe Pinzon and Petar Teodorovic with a 6-1 result at the third line, with the Big Red claiming the doubles point. Ivan Sodan and Cole Oberg were down 3-5 against No. 80, Rushil Khosla and Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar, at the second line before their match went unfinished.
In singles, Sodan fell in a three-set match against No. 95 ranked Rodrigo Fernandes at the first line, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Noah Hernandez defeated Eric Verdes, 6-4, 6-1, at second singles. Zander Bravo was topped by Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar, 6-1, 6-2 at the fifth line. Alex Koong was defeated by Aman Sharma, 6-3, 6-3 at sixth singles. Robert Yang was up against Petar Teodorovic (6-4) when their match did not finish. At the fourth line, Wasserman was in battle with Felipe Pinzon, but it remained unfinished at 4-4.
Brown will continue Ivy League play when it welcomes Harvard to the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday, Apr. 10, at 3 p.m.
