
Men’s Tennis Falls to Columbia 4-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team (15-9, 0-2 Ivy) fell to No. 37 Columbia (11-6, 1-0 Ivy), 0-4, on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles, Ivan Sodan and Lukas Phimvongsa fell 6-0 to Michael Zheng and Nicolas Kotzen at the first line. Elliot Wasserman and Cole Oberg were defeated by No. 44 Thanaphat Boosarawongse and Abhishek Thorat with a 6-2 result at the third line, with the Lions claiming the doubles point. Noah Hernandez and Zander Bravo fell 5-2 to Sachin Palta and Andrew Ena at the second line.
In singles, Sodan was down against No. 6 Michael Zheng at the first line, 6-4, 4-1, but their match did not finish. Phimvongsa fell to No. 44 Nicolas Kotzen, 6-0, 6-1 at second singles. Robert Yang and No. 74 Sachin Palta were battling at the third line (6-4, 1-1) when play was halted, and the match did not finish. At the fourth line, Wasserman was topped by Boosarawongse with a 6-4, 6-2 result. Bravo was defeated by Thorat at line five with a 6-1, 6-1 result, and Alex Koong's match against Aditya Govila remained unfinished at 6-3, 5-3.
Brown will continue Ivy League play and celebrate its three-member senior class when it welcomes Cornell to the Pizzitola Sports Center tomorrow at 1 p.m.
