Softball Hosts Harvard for Weekend Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball returns home for its Ivy League home opener as the Bears will play host to Harvard for a three-game series.
The Bears and Crimson will meet for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m., before closing out the series with a single game on Sunday that will also begin at 12:30 p.m.
All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown is back home after having played its last five games on the road. The Bears went 1-2 against Yale in their Ivy League opener and dropped both games of a doubleheader at Bryant on Wednesday.
- Jasmine Hsiao remains the leader in the clubhouse with a .382 average, 21 hits and seven doubles. Hsiao is tied with Vanessa Alexander for the most runs scored this season with 10. Hsiao is also on a 13-game streak of reaching base, the longest by a Brown player this season.
- Laurel Moody is leading the lineup with three home runs and 19 RBI. Both Moody and Hsiao are tops on the team with five multi-hit games.
- Lily Berlinger is currently on an eight-game hitting streak. It is the longest stream by a Bear this season. Berlinger is second on the team with .349 average and a .440 on base percentage.
- Harvard comes into the weekend with a 10-11 overall record and a 1-4 mark in Ivy League play. Harvard was swept by Yale in the opening weekend and split two games against Dartmouth last weekend.
- Harvard has four batters in the lineup hitting over .300, led by Sophie Sun who is hitting .386. Sun leads the team with 22 hits, four home runs and is tied for the team lead with 11 RBI.
- The Crimson have a team-ERA of just 2.45 with four pitchers posting sub-3.00 ERAs. Nicolette Hunter leads the team with a 1.35 ERA in 3.61 innings pitched. Riley Flynn has thrown a team-high 45.0 innings and has 35 strikeouts.
- Harvard has owned the series recently, winning eight of the last ten matchups against Brown. The Bears have lost five-straight games with the last win being a 1-0 win back in 2022.
