Gymnastics Set for 2024 GEC Championships on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Championship season has arrived for the brown gymnastics team, which is set for the third annual Gymnastics east Conference Championships, which will take place this Saturday and be hosted by yale University.
Brown has earned the No. 3 seed in the championships and will compete in the evening session at 6 p.m. along with Penn, Yale and West Chester. The league's bottom three seeds – William & Mary, Bridgeport, Cornell and Southern Connecticut State – will compete in the afternoon session at noon. The scores from both sessions will be merged.

Brown finished runner-up while hosting the inaugural 2022 GEC Championships, setting a program record of 195.975. The Bears then finished fourth in 2023, scoring 193.750.

Brown posted its season-high score of 194.925 last week in a quad meet at New Hampshire. Brown tied its program record on beam (48.950), their second time hitting that mark this season, and scored a season-high on bars (48.725).Brown's two highest team scores this season have both come at UNH.
FORD DRIVES TO NO. 2
Emily Ford scored a 9.900 last weekend on beam at the UNH Quad Meet, tying for the No. 2 score in program history with teammate Jessica Lin (1/28/2024) and Taylor Schulze (4/8/2022).
NATIONAL QUALIFYING SCORES
The Bears have posted the three highest National Qualifying Scores in program history the last three seasons, with a 194.315 in 2023, 194.020 in 2024 and 193.695 in 2022.
The Bears ranked 59th nationally in both 2022 and 2023, tying for their highest rank in program history.
