Women's Crew Sixth in Preseason Poll, Levine and Vavasour Named Athletes to Watch

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two Bears – Dahlia Levine and Olivia Vavasour – earned spots on the 2024 CRCA Athletes to Watch. The CRCA announced the inaugural list last week. Additionally, Brown picked up a spot on the 2024 Preseason Pocock CRCA Coaches Poll, coming in at sixth.
Levine and Vavasour mark two of the 23 Division I selections on the preseason list. Brown is one of seven programs with two selections and one of 16 programs represented on the list.
Levine was a CRCA First Team All-America selection and Second Team All-Ivy selection in 2023. The Ardmore, Pennsylvania native rowed in the Varsity 8 for the entire season and helped the Bears finish fourth at the Ivy Championships.
Vavasour rowed in the top eight boat last season and helped the Bears take fourth at the Ivy League Championships. The Saratoga Springs, New York native was a Second Team All-Ivy selection as a sophomore in 2022.
Brown ranks sixth in the first CRCA Coaches Poll of the 2024 season. Stanford is the top-ranked team entering the season and is following by Washington, Princeton, Texas, and Yale.
The 2024 Bruno squad kicks off the season with a trip to New Jersey to take on Princeton and Rhode Island on Saturday, March 30.
