Baseball to Host Bryant for Home-Opening Doubleheader on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After playing their first 10 games of the season on the road, the Brown baseball team will open its home schedule on Saturday when they host Bryant for a doubleheader at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. First pitch of game one is set for 11:30 a.m. on ESPN+.
The Bears and Bulldogs will also square off on Sunday afternoon at noon in a single game at Bryant at 1 p.m.

Saturday Game 1: Jack Seppings (1-1, 5.63 ERA) vs. Austin Wainer (0-1, 5.06 ERA)
Saturday Game 2: Paxton Meyers (2-0, 4.50 ERA) vs. Luke Delongchamp (1-1, 6.55 ERA)
Sunday (at Bryant): Santhosh Gottam (1-2, 12.27 ERA) vs. Tyler Horvat (0-1, 9.49 ERA)

SCOUTING BROWN (4-6)
- Brown is coming off its first series win of the season last weekend at Davidson, winning the first two games of the series as the team's bats exploded for 22 runs in the first two games.
- Junior ace Jack Seppings struck out a career-high eight batters over 5.0 innings in his start, allowing three runs (two earned) and four hits en route to being named the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Week.
- Infielders DJ Dillehay and Charles Crawford each were named to the Honor Roll this week for their offensive performances in the weekend series. Dillehay posted a .467/.467/.867 slash line over the three games, collecting six RBIs. He tallied four hits and three RBIs in Friday's win, and knocked a three-run homer in Sunday's series finale.
- Crawford picked up a hit in each game and went 2-for-2 with four RBIs including a pair of home runs in Brown's game one win on Sunday, with his second homer proving to be the game-winning hit.
- Brown hit .340 as a team in last weekend's series, along with posting 18 walks in the three games. However, Brown also compiled a 10.50 staff ERA.
- Bryant is coming off a three-game sweep of Iona last weekend at home, before dropping a pair of midweek games this week to Stonehill (16-5) and in walk-off fashion at Northeastern (5-4).
- The team is batting .230 on the season with senior first baseman Gavin Noriega (.333) and sophomore outfielder Gavin Greger (.310) leading the team at the plate.
- Noriega has been a consistent source of power this season with seven home runs and 14 RBIs through 14 games, while drawing 10 walks.
- Austin Wainer was named the America East Pitcher of the Week after tossing 5.0 innings against Iona, allowing two runs and striking out nine.
