Women's Tennis Takes Care of Business Versus Villanova and Holy Cross

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown women's tennis won both matches of a doubleheader against Villanova, 6-1, and Holy Cross, 7-0, on Sunday at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

The Bears took the doubles point in both matches with some new pairs.

Going 2-0 in singles on the day were juniors Lindsey Hofflander and Addison Ahlstrom, sophomore Vivian Miller, and freshman Dani Ben-Abraham. Winning their lone matches were seniors Ali Benedetto and Olivia Mariotti, and freshman Anne Yang.

"After yesterday's nail-biting victory against Portland, we came out focused and ready to stay on task in today's doubleheader," said Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "In both matches we played solid doubles, overwhelming our opponents by being aggressive from the baseline and at the net. In singles, our players did a good job of staying focused on their performance goals and playing aggressively, fine-tuning their game-styles. Overall, it was a focused effort for our players as we prepare for the ECAC Championships later this week."

UP NEXT
Brown travels to Harvard for the ECAC Championship on Friday through Sunday where the team will look to defend its title.
