Gymnastics Heads to Bridgeport for Quad Meet this Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team will compete this weekend at the University of Bridgeport in a quad meet against the against the Purple Knights, Rhode Island College and Talladega.

Meet Notes: Brown
Brown is coming off a fourth place finish at this past weekend's Ivy Classic, where the team complied 193.900 points. Junior Julia Bedell won the individual Ivy title on floor by tying her own record for third all-time at 9.925. She earned First Team All-Ivy honors on floor and second team accolades on vault, giving her five All-Ivy honors for her career. Sophia Dewar (vault) and Lauren McKeown (bars) also earned second team honors.
Angela Xing also had a strong week for the Bears, scoring at least a 9.700 on all six of her events, including a pair of 9.800 marks on floor. As a team, the Bears scored 49.100 on floor at the Ivy Classic, their third-highest of the season and just under the school record of 49.200.
For her performance in both of Brown's meets last week, Bedell was named the GEC Specialist of the Week for the third time this season.
