PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will head to the Sunshine State for a four-game weekend series with Stetson. Game one on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m. There will be no video broadcast for any of the four games.

SCOUTING BROWN

Brown is coming off a 1-2 weekend-opening series at UT Martin. After dropping the opener 12-2 in seven innings, Brown dropped game two 3-2 after allowing three unearned runs before rebounding in game three on Sunday with an 11-hit onslaught in a 13-6 win.
Freshman Miles Newsome started the final two games of the series at second base and was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after posting .667/.778/1.167 slash line, reaching base in seven of his nine plate appearances and clubbing his first career home run.
Freshmen Brady Dever went 3-for-3 with a walk and a pair of home runs in Sunday's win.
Sophomore Mika Petersen (.300/.462/.400) had his 28-game on-base streak snapped on Saturday, but has reached base safely via a hit, walk or hit by pitch in 29 of his last 30 games.
Brown got strong starts from senior Paxton Meyers (6.0 IP, 5H, 0 ER) and junior Santhosh Gottam (5.0 IP, 6H, 3 ER).

SCOUTING STETSON

The Hatters are off to a 5-3 start to the season, most recently taking down No. 4 Florida 7-4 at home on Tuesday night. Stetson has also defeated Maine (12-2) and Fordham (9-1) while dropping one to Army West Point (13-8) in other matchups against northeast schools this season.
Junior catcher Gio Cueto is slashing .393/.514/.571 to start the season with a team-leading 11 RBIs.
Jayden Hylton holds a .375 average with two homers and a team-leading 12 hits.
Lorenzo Meola with 11 walks in 41 plate appearances.
The team holds .248 batting average while the pitching staff has compiled a 4.44 ERA.
Projected game one starter Dylan Jacobs does not have a decision through two starts, holding a 1.86 ERA while tossing 9.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on four walks and three strikeouts.
Daniel Parat holds a 2.31 ERA through two starts (1-0 record) with eight strikeouts through 11.2 innings while holding opponents to a 2.17 ERA.
