ABOUT THE BEARS
- Brown is coming off a performance on Sunday where they posted a season-high 194.700, the sixth-highest score in program history. The Bears also tied the program record on floor (49.200), which they previously set at the 2022 GEC Championships.
- Brown took down Yale in a dual meet on Feb. 4, scoring 194.025 points. The Bears have defeated all 11 opponents at home dating back to the start of last season.
- Junior Julia Bedell posted a 9.925 on floor in a quad meet on Feb. 12 at New Hampshire, tying the No. 2 all-time mark in program history. She now holds four of the top seven floor scores in program history.
- Sophomore Jessica Lin made her collegiate debut on January 28 competing on beam and tied for the second highest score in program history at 9.900. Freshman Emily Ford posted a 9.875, which sits tied with Olympian Alicia Sacramone for fourth on the program's all-time list.
- In the January 21 season opener at Oregon State, the Bears posted a score of 192.950, their highest score in a season-opening meet since at least the 2009 season. It was the second consecutive year Brown traveled to Oregon State, where head coach Brittany Harris competed collegiately.
- Brown was scheduled to open the 2024 season on January 15 at the MLK Invitational in Nashville, but the event was canceled due to snow. The meet was set to be the inaugural event featuring the six female African American head coaches in women's college gymnastics and was to be hosted by Fisk at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymnasium.
- Brown has won three weekly awards from the GEC this season, one each following each of the first three meets. Julia Bedell (2) and Jessica Lin (1) have each been named the GEC Specialist of the Week so far in 2024.
