Gymnastics Ties Floor Record; Scores Season-High at UNH

DURHAM, N.H. – The Brown gymnastics team scored a season-high 194.700 points at the Stick It For The Cure quad meet at the University of New Hampshire on Sunday. The Bears also opened the meet by posting a 49.200 on floor, tying the all-time program record that has stood since 2022. Brown posted season-highs on three events, and their overall score is the sixth-highest score in program history. All four teams at the meet scored season-highs with Towson winning the quad at 196.300, followed by Rutgers (196.200) and the host Wildcats (195.875).
Entering the meet as the 42nd ranked team in the nation on floor, Brown started on its best event and turned in a sensational performance with a score of 49.200, tying the program record mark that had previously been set at the GEC Championships in March 2022. Junior Julia Bedell anchored the event with a huge score of 9.925 to tie for first place overall and tie her own mark for the second-best score in program history. All six of Brown's athletes scored at least a 9.600 with sophomore Sophia Dewar finishing tied for eighth at 9.850, junior Maya Davis and senior Lauren Kramer following at 9.825, and senior Angela Xing at 9.775. The performances helped the Bears hold a narrow lead through one rotation.
Next up on vault, Brown scored 48.725, their highest of the season to sit in second place through two rotations at 97.925. Xing tied her career-high at 9.825 to finish tied for fifth overall to lead the Bears. Bedell was next tying for ninth place at 9.800, followed by Dewar at 9.775 and Kramer at 9.750.
On bars, Brown totaled another season-high of 48.300 with senior Asta-Sollilja Farrell leading the Bears by tying for eighth place at 9.800. Senior Lauren McKeown (9.775) and Davis (9.675) followed.
On the final rotation, sophomore Jessica Lin led Brown by tying for eighth place on beam at 9.725, followed by freshman Lindsey Yang who scored a career-high of 9.700. Sophomore Liza Marcus followed at 9.675 and Kramer scored 9.650. The team scored 48.475 on the event.
The Bears will compete next Saturday, February 17 in a quad meet at LIU with Cornell and Penn. Start time is set for 7 p.m. Brown will also compete next Monday, February 19 at the All-American Challenge at Mohegan Sun.
