Women's Fencing Wraps Up 2024 Ivy League Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Brown closed out the 2024 Ivy League Fencing Championships with a loss to Princeton and tight loss to Cornell on Sunday at Levien Gymnasium on Columbia's campus.
Columbia, Penn, and Princeton all finished 5-1 to win a share of the Ivy League title.
Princeton took the first match on Sunday with a 21-6 final with the Brown foil squad taking five points. Jessie Chen picked up two wins in with Anika Breker, Samantha Chon, and Apoorva Talwalkar each picking up a point.
Alexandra Tzou picked up a point in the sabre against the unbeaten Tigers.
The Bears gave Cornell its closest match, ultimately falling 15-12 to close out the Championship. Breker, Grace Li, and Jessie Chen all finished 2-1 to pick up a 6-3 win in the foil. Dasha Smuk posted a 2-1 mark in the epee against the Big Red and Soph Bililies went 2-1 in the sabre.
Chen finished the Championship with a 7-6 overall record and Breker posted a 7-7 mark to lead the Bears in points.
Round 5: Princeton 21, Brown 6 (S: 8-1; F: 4-5; E: 9-0)
Round 6: Cornell 15, Brown 12 (S: 6-3; F: 3-6; E: 6-3)
