
Bears Skate in 3-3 Tie at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H.- The Brown Bears tied 3-3 with the Dartmouth Big Green in a Saturday evening tilt.
Jade Iginla earned the first goal of the game at 6:56 into the first period. Her backhanded shot ricocheted off of a Dartmouth defender, and into the back of the net. Miranda Calderone and Cameron Sikich are credited with the assists. Dartmouth's Cally Dixon tied things up at 1-1 with just 52 seconds left in the first period.
The second period remained scoreless until the final 33 seconds. Maya Mangiafico picked up a loose puck in front of Dartmouth's crease, and sent it into the goal. Anna Shelden and Ellie Gauvin are credited with the assists. The Bears regained the lead, 2-1 heading into the third period.
The Bears opened up the third period with a top shelf goal from Ava DeCoste. India McDadi  and Jade Iginla recorded the assists on DeCoste's goal. DeCoste extended the Bears' lead 3-1. Four minutes later, the Big Green's Laura Fuoco shortened Brown's lead 3-2. At 17:29 into the third period, the Big Green would even the score once again at 3-3, sending the game into overtime.
The Bears had a total of four shots on goal during overtime, while the Big Green had three. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Brown is back in action on Friday at Meehan Auditorium where they will take on the Cornell Big Red.
