Women's Hockey Makes Road Trip To RPI & Union

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey will make its final road trip of 2024 as the Bears will head to RPI and Union for games on Friday and Saturday.
The game at RPI on Friday will start at 6 p.m. and puck drop at Union will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be streamed on ESPN.
SKATE SHAVINGS
• Brown returns to ECAC play for its final two games of the calendar year. Brown will be on the road to take on Rensselaer on Friday at 6 p.m. and Union on Saturday at 3 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+
• The Bears earned two wins last weekend as Brown won the 29th Mayor's Cup with a 3-2 win at Providence and followed it up with a 4-1 win against Holy Cross.
• Brown's eight wins before the holiday break are the second-most wins in program history before the break and the most for the Bears since Brown won nine games in 2004-05 in games before the calendar turned to January.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• Rensselaer enters the weekend with a 9-7-2 overall record and 2-4-1 mark in ECAC play
• The Engineers took home a win in a a home game against Assumption last weekend.
• Rensselaer posts a 8-2-0 performance at home but falls to a 1-5-2 record on the road.
• Aylah Cioffi, Ellie Kaiser and Morgann Skoda all lead the team in goals (6), Sophie Helgeson leads the team in assists (12). Four Engineers are tied to lead the team in points (9).
INSIDE THE SERIES
• Brown has taken home six out of the last 10 meetings with the Engineers. The Bears last win was a 1-0 victory at home back on Feb. 24, 2024 during ECAC First Round play.
• The series between Rensselaer and Brown has been ongoing since 2007, RPI won five of the first 10 meetings between the two schools (2007-2011).
• The last time Brown recorded a win on the road was Feb. 3, 2023 when they beat the Engineers 4-1.

• Union enters the weekend with a 7-10-1 overall record and 4-3-0 mark in the ECAC.
• The Chargers tallied one loss and one tie in a pair of games against St. Cloud State last weekend.
• Karianne Engelbert leads the team in goals (10) and points (11), Maddie Leaney Winn leads the team in assists (12).
