Women's Rugby Set to Play Dartmouth in NIRA Semi-Finals

HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown Bears (4-2-1) earned the No. 4 seed in the NIRA playoffs and will face the No. 1 seed Dartmouth Big Green (7-0-0) in a rematch of the regular season finale. The game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 12 p.m. at Dartmouth, with the winner of this game advancing to the championship.
Brown was defeated by Dartmouth on Nov. 2, by a score of 60-19. Despite the loss, it was the most points scored by the Bears against Dartmouth in rugby 15s since 2014.
Dartmouth's 327 season points scored is the most in the conference, while Brown is third in points scored with 269. Dartmouth also boasts the best defense, only allowing 74 points on the season. Brown allowed 161 points, good for sixth fewest.
No. 2 seed Harvard will host No. 3 Army in the other semi-final game. Brown's two losses on the season were to the top seeds, Harvard and Dartmouth.
The Bears will look to give Dartmouth their first loss of the year and advance to the championship for the first time in team history.
