Women's Rugby Defeats LIU On Day One of Tropical 7s Tournament

TAMPA, Fla. – The Brown women's rugby team (13-7) went 1-2 on the first day of the Tropical 7s Tournament. The Bears defeated LIU before falling to Life and Canada Misfits on Friday.

Brown def. LIU 36-0
Dominating their first game of the day, the Bears defeated the LIU Sharks 36-0. Lily Nowak, Olivia Baptiste, Julia Murray, Laryssa Barbosa, Charlotte Davies, and Yona Allouche each crossed the try line. Murray completed two conversions, and Genie Dickens added the third.

The Bears fell in a close match to the Life Running Eagles, 19-17. Barbosa and Dickens both scored tries but Life registered a last-minute push to earn the win.
