Women's Rugby Storms to Victory in Brown 7s Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's rugby team (12-5) hosted the annual Brown 7s Tournament on Saturday at Berylson Family Fields, with the A Team clinching the championship and the B Team securing sixth place. The A Team went 4-0, and the B Team finished 1-3.
"It was a full team effort, and both sides grew as the day went on," Kathleen Flores Head Coach Rosalind Chou said.
Brown A def. St. Bonaventure 38-0
Building on their strong performance from the Round Robin Tournament, the Bears A Team opened the Brown 7s with a dominating 38-0 win over St. Bonaventure. Two tries apiece came from Lily Nowak and Laryssa Barbosa, while Julia Murray and Lily McGettigan each completed two conversions.

The first half belonged to the Bears as Lauren Huang, Davis, and Jenna Lowry each scored a try, building a 15-0 halftime lead. Huang opened the second half with another try, and despite a late try and conversion from the Huskies, it wasn't enough to overtake the Bears.

The Bonnies pulled away in the second half with three tries and one conversion, resulting in a 6th-place finish for the Bears.
