DANBURY, Conn. – Goaltender Lawton Zacher and forward Charlie Gollob picked up ECAC Hockey weekly awards, announced by the conference on Monday.
Zacher was named MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week with Gollob earning Bitcoin Rookie of the Week honors.
The Bears swept 19th-ranked Clarkson and St. Lawrence on the road for the program's first road sweep over the two teams since 2004. It marked just the third road sweep over the Golden Knights and Saints in program history.
Zacher recorded his first career shutout with a stellar 29-save effort against the Golden Knights on Friday before making 30 saves in the 2-1 overtime win over St. Lawrence on Saturday. On the weekend, he posted a 0.49 goals against average and .983 save percentage, stopping 59-of-60 shots faced.
Starting with the game against Princeton (11/15) and lasting until the third period at St. Lawrence, Zacher posted a 157:04 scoreless streak, the second-longest in program history. He only trails Brown Hall-of-Famer Yann Danis '04, who posted a 161:30 streak in November 2003.
On the season, the Buffalo, New York native leads the ECAC and ranks sixth in the NCAA with a .940 save percentage. His 1.73 goals against average ranks second in the conference and 12th nationally.
Gollob earns his first career weekly honor after posting goals in consecutive games. The Toronto, Ontario native tallied the game-winner with 0.5 seconds remaining at 19th-ranked Clarkson before opening the scoring on Saturday against the Saints.
He is one of two Bears with multiple goals this season and holds a +1 rating in five games.
The Bears are back at Meehan this weekend to host Air Force (8-8-0, 5-3-0 AHA) in a two-game series. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with Saturday's Teddy Bear Toss game scheduled for 4 p.m.
