Women's Hockey Posts 1-1 Tie Against No.9 St.Lawrence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's ice hockey team (6-5-0, 3-1-1 ECAC) battled through regulation and overtime to tie No.9 St.Lawrence (9-5-3, 3-1-1 ECAC), 1-1 on Saturday afternoon.
"It's always exciting to get points, and that's 1.5 points in our league which is always exciting," said junior captain Jade Iginla. "We're really going to try and build on that and carry some of the momentum into next weekend."
Iginla was the lone Bear to find the back of the net for Brown. Anya Zupkofska finished the game with 26 saves.
The Bears and the Saints skated through the first period scoreless, both allowing 7 shots each.
St.Lawrence struck first tallying a goal just over halfway through the second.
Less than two minutes later, Brown responded.
Iginla got the Bears on the board at 13:12 in the second as India McDadi and Ava DeCoste both earned assists.
Teams skated through a scoreless third to finish regulation in a 1-1 tie.
A scoreless OT brought both ECAC teams to a shootout. DeCoste and Margot Norehad both found the back of the net for the Bears.
St.Lawrence won the shootout 3-2.

The Bears will return to action Saturday, Nov. 30 as they head over to play Providence College in Providence, R.I. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
