Men's Water Polo Begins NWPC Tournament Against LIU on Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo begins its quest for an NWPC title as the Bears will take on the sixth seed Long Island at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Brown received four athletes on the All-NWPC with Ilias Stothart being named to the First Team, Dimitris Kratimenos and Mate Tymcyna being named to the Second Team and Mac Berry being named Honorable Mention.

Brown will face off against an LIU team that the Bears have handled in both meetings this season. In the first meeting in Brooklyn, Brown beat the Sharks 20-11. Gabe Chang led Brown with six goals and six assists. Ilias Stothart finished the game with four goals and Ramzi Megalli had three. Ryan Miele had 13 saves in the win.
In the second game of the season between the two teams, Goran Narancic scored five goals and nine other Bears found the net in an 18-8 victory. Kole Newman collected 15 saves in the win.
With a win, Brown will play the winner of Harvard and Connecticut College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
