Men's Soccer Set to Take on No. 12 Penn in Ivy League Tournament Semifinal

PHILADELPHIA, Penn.- The Brown men's soccer team will take on the first-seeded Penn Quakers in the Ivy League Tournament semifinal on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.
All-Ivy Honorees
Brown had five players named to the All-Ivy teams as announced by the league on Wednesday. Lorenzo Amaral headlined the selections, earning First Team All-Ivy. Tanner Barry and Mads Stistrup Petersen earned Second Team recognition. Barry was also named to the Academic All-Ivy team, for his commitment to education and sports. Jack Cloherty and Harri Sprofera earned nods as Honorable Mentions.
Regular Season Recap
The Bears concluded the regular season with an 8-7-1 record, going 3-4-0 in conference play. Brown ended the season on a three game win streak, posting the wins over Rhode Island, Columbia, and Yale. A late goal from Harri Sprofera in Saturday's game against Yale, punched the Bears' ticket to the Ivy League Tournament.
Tournament Field
The 2024 Ivy League Tournament will feature two semifinal matches on Friday. At 3 p.m., the fourth-seeded Bears will take on first-seed Penn. Second-seeded Cornell will battle with third-seed Princeton at 6:30 p.m.
The winners of both semifinal games will go head-to-head in the final on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1p.m.

- Brown is coming off 1-0 win over the Yale Bulldogs in their regular season finale.
- Senior defenseman Harri Sprofera scored Brown's lone goal from a corner kick by Lorenzo Amaral.
- Goalkeeper Henrik Weiper made saves on all four of Yale's shots, earning Brown a shutout.
- Penn is coming off a 1-0 win over Princeton in their final game of the regular season.
- Stas Korzeniowski scored the Quakers' solo goal of the game. Korzeniowski led Penn in scoring, with a total of 12.
- Goalkeeper Phillip Falcon III has played between the pipes for all games of the 2024 season for the Quakers.
- The Bears have a 6-7-4 all time record against the Quakers.
- Brown and Penn met earlier in the season. The Bears traveled to Philadelphia, where they fell 2-0 to the Quakers.
- The two teams met last year during the Ivy League Tournament. The game ended in a 2-2 tie, where Brown ultimately advanced on penalty kicks.
