Stistrup Petersen’s Game Winning Goal Secures 2-1 Victory Over Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass.- The Brown men's soccer team earned their fourth win of the season with their 2-1 win over Holy Cross on Tuesday night.
Brown and Holy Cross both fought through the first half looking to get on the board first. The Bears responded in the 30th minute. Diego Elizalde took the ball from Holy Cross and shot it past their goalkeeper Tristan Stephani into the back of the net to give the Bears the upper hand.
The Bears wrapped up the first half with a total of three shots. The Crusaders took six shots throughout the half, but were unable to land any on target.
The Crusaders returned to the game looking for the equalizer. Five minutes into the second half is where they would find it. Holy Cross took a corner kick, and Marcus Williams capitalized on the opportunity.
Brown would rally for one last rush with one minute left on the clock. Jamin Gogo Peters carried the ball down into Holy Cross' end, getting tripped up with one of their players on the way. Gogo Peters bounced back, and passed the ball to Mads Stistrup Petersen. Stistrup Petersen sent it sailing past Tristan Stephani to score the game winning goal.
The Bears will travel to Penn on Saturday where they will resume their Ivy League play.
