Men's Water Polo Falls to No. 17 Santa Clara to Close out Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 19 Brown men's water polo dropped its final game of the weekend, 13-12, to No. 17 Santa Clara on Sunday.
Ilias Stothart led Brown with four goals. Trey Rogers and Máté Tymcyna each had three goals and Ramzi Megalli and Dominik Balla each scored once. Dimitris Kratimenos finished the game with seven saves.
The Bears were down 7-5 at the half but came back with four goals in the third quarter to tie up the game. Santa Clara took a 13-10 lead midway through the fourth but Stothart and Rogers each scored to pull Brown within one with just over 30 seconds left. Brown had a chance to tie the game but Daniel Hadar's shot was stopped and Santa Clara held on for the win.
UP NEXT
Brown returns back home for a stretch of six-straight games to close out the regular season. The run starts with NWPC games against Harvard and MIT on Sunday (Nov. 3).
