Men's Water Polo Beats MIT, Falls By One to Harvard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo beat MIT, 20-17, but lost to Harvard, 17-16, in two conference games on Sunday.
Ilias Stothart and Máté Tymcyna each had 1- goals to lead the Bears on the day.
HARVARD 17, BROWN 16
Stothart and Tymcyna led Brown with four goals each but a Brown comeback came up one-goal short in the day's opening loss to Harvard. Dimitris Kratimenos had 14 saves for Brown.
The Bears trailed 9-8 at halftime but a 5-2 third quarter put the Crimson up four entering the final quarter. Brown trailed 17-13 with two minutes left in the game before Stothart scored his fourth goal. A goal by Mac Berry with 30 seconds left pulled Brown within two.
Daniel Hadar scored with nine seconds left but the Bears ran out of time, falling by one.
BROWN 20, MIT 17
To close out the day, Tymcyna and Stothart each had six goals and Berry finished with four. Gabe Chang led the Bears with five assists. Kole Newman had nine saves and Kratimenos had seven.
The game entered the fourth quarter tied at 15. Brown scored the first goal of the fourth quarter with Berry finding the net. After an MIT goal, Stothart broke the tie and Brown pushed its lead to three with goals from Berry and Ramzi Megalli.
MIT added a goal but Hadar responded with a goal for the final score.
UP NEXT
Brown remain home for three games next weekend when the Bears welcome Princeton, Iona and LIU to Providence.
