Two Late Goals Gives Men's Soccer 3-1 Win Over Harvard

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown men's soccer team earned their first Ivy League win of the season against the Harvard Crimson, 3-1.
The Bears struck first, getting on the board in just the tenth minute of regulation. Lorenzo Amaral took a corner kick that Jack Cloherty headed past Harvard goalkeeper Lucian Wood, and into the back of the net.
Brown held Harvard off from scoring during the first half, with the Crimson posting only three shots.
The Bears spent a lot of time in the offensive zone, wrapping up the first half with six shots including three that landed on target.
Harvard opened up the second half with the equalizer from Kristján Gunnarsson, tying the game at 1-1.
With just one minute remaining in regulation, Tanner Barry found the back of the net to give the Bears the upperhand. Lorenzo Amaral took a corner kick that Barry headed into the back of the net to give the Bears the lead.
There were 24 seconds on the clock when Lorenzo Amaral carried the ball up the field on a breakaway. Amaral danced around Harvard's defender, scoring the third goal of the afternoon and ensuring a win for Brown.
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, October 26 at Stevenson-Pincince Field when they take on Cornell at 7 p.m for their Mental Health Awareness game.
