CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Brown women's tennis team finished up their second day of competition at the ITA Regionals with strong results in both the singles and doubles brackets.

The qualifying matches for singles play saw four Brown players win two matches each to advance to the main draw where they would join Phoebe Peus, Gabby Soliman, and Anne Yang.

Lindsey Hofflander defeated Paula Casares (LeMoyne College) 6-0, 6-3 and Sam Grosjean (Dartmouth) 7-6 (8-6 tiebreaker), 6-1. Dani Ben-Abraham beat Cosima Trinity Calinescu (UMass Amherst) 6-3, 6-3 and Caroline Lemcke (Dartmouth) 7-6 (7-4 tiebreaker), 6-2. Bella Hu won her matches against Stephanie Sanchez (Boston College) 6-2, 6-1 and Emma Baker (Cornell) 6-2, 6-0. Addison Ahlstrom advanced by beating Manuela Gomez (Siena College) 6-3, 6-3 and Esmee Andresen (University at Buffalo) 7-5, 2-6, 6-1.

In doubles play, Lindsey Hofflander and Phoebe Peus set the tone for the day with an 8-4 win over Maria Glowacka and Jagmeet Kaur from the University at Buffalo. Bella Hu and Hannah Shen also won their bout by a final score of 8-3 against Isabel Garcia and Larisa Kotok from Niagara University. Rounding out the strong showings in doubles play were Gabby Soliman and Anne Moody, who won 8-7 with a tiebreaker score of 7-3, against Feriel Mahbouli and Ella Fernando from LeMoyne College.

In singles play, Bella Hu continued her strong start at Regionals with a win against Sophie Herrman from the University of Rhode Island (6-0, 6-1). Addison Ahlstrom won her match against Sarah Liu (Fairfield University) by scores of 6-2 and 7-5 after dropping a set 7-6 with a tiebreaker of 7-2. Phoebe Peus also won her match by scores of 6-2 and 6-1 against Kiana Thompson (Merrimack College).

The Bears will continue play at the ITA Regionals on Saturday.
