
Women's Hockey Falls at No. 12 UConn

STORRS, Conn. - Brown women's hockey suffered a 2-1 loss at No. 12 UConn on Tuesday night.
Freshman Margot Norehad secured her sixth goal of the season for the Bears (8-10-1) and is now tied for second on the team in goals. Scoring for the Huskies (12-6-2) were junior Riley Grimley and sophomore Brooke Campbell.
The Bears struck just over seven minutes into the first period. Norehad took advantage of a UConn mishandled puck and took it herself around the net for a wrap-around goal. Norehad has now earned a point in each of the last four games and It was her third goal in that span.
The Bears held onto the one-score lead until the second. UConn then took advantage of a power play when Grimley scored at the 7:09 mark of the second with assists from grad student Claire Peterson and senior Jada Habisch. The Huskies scored the game winner with three minutes left in the period on a goal from Campbell from grad student Coryn Tormala and sophomore Emma Eryou.
Brown had six shots on goal in the third period. Senior goaltender Kaley Doyle finished with 36 saves. The Bears see its three-game winning streak come to an end.
ECAC play resumes for Brown against St. Lawrence on Friday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at Meehan Auditorium.
