SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown opened Ivy League play with a strong 65-39 win at Dartmouth on January 6. The Bears then held a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter at Yale on Saturday before holding on for a 76-71 win.
- Brown is 2-0 to start Ivy play for the first time since the 2005-06 season and has not started 3-0 since the 2004-05 season.
- Both teams are 2-1 this season against common opponents, topping UMass Lowell and Yale, while falling to URI.
- bella Mauricio has heated up over the last four games. Since playing in her home state on Dec. 30 against San Francisco, Mauricio has shot 21-for-43 (.489) from the floor, including 15-for-32 (.467) from three-point range and averaged 16.25 ppg, all well above her season averages.
- ALYSSA MORELAND has attacked the glass recently, pulling down double-digit rebounds in three of her last four games, twice tying her career-high with 13 during the stretch. Moreland is the only Bear with games of 10+ rebounds this season, a feat she has accomplished four times.
- BELLA MAURICIO currently sits in sixth place on the school's all-time three-point list with 160 three-pointers for her career, 10 shy of tying Colleen Kelly '06 for fifth place. Mauricio started her career at Brown making a freshman-record 70 threes. Only four Bears have ever made 200 three-pointers in their careers.
- KYLA JONES has a chance to become the 23rd Bear in program history to hit 1,000 career points later this season.
