Men's Water Polo Extends Win Streak to Four with Two Wins on Saturday

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Brown men's water polo pushed its win streak to four-straight games after back-to-back 15-11 wins over Long Island and Iona to open conference play. Ilias Stothart led Brown with nine goals on the day.

BROWN 15, LIU 11
The Bears got four goals from Ilias Stothart and three from Trey Rogers as Brown took down Long Island to start the day.

Both Goran Narancic and Jaxson Tierney added two goals for the Bears and Thomas Hoffmeister, Ramzi Megalli, Evan Moore and Gabe Chang all scored once. Ryan Miele was in goal for the Bears and had three saves.

The Bears jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first quarter with Stothart and Narancic each scoring twice. Brown led 9-3 at the half and pushed its lead to 13-9 after three quarters.

Tierney and Moore each scored in the fourth quarter to put the game away for the Bears.

BROWN 15, IONA 11
The Bears completed the sweep of the day beating Iona 15-11 as Ilias Stothart finished with five goals for the Bears. Both Goran Narancic and Jaxson Tierney added three goals for Brown.

Brown jumped ahead with six goals in the first quarter as both Narancic and Tierney scored twice in the frame. The Bears extended their lead to 9-5 at halftime with two goals from Stothart in the second quarter.

Stothart and Máté Tymcyna each scored twice in the third as Brown took a commanding 14-7 lead and held on for its fourth-straight win.
