Scouting the Bears
- Brown returns 82% of its scoring offense from last season, including seven of their top eight points scorers. Leading the way are their top three scorers from last season, Brittany Raphino (24 points), Ava Seelenfreund (21), and Kira Maguire (16).
- The Bears also return all three players who made all 18 starts in goal, with Bella Schopp and Clare Gagne making the majority of those. Schopp was an Honorable Mention All-Ivy selection and, as a team, the Brown goalies and defense allowed just .72 goals against per game.
- Kia McNeill returns for her eighth season at the helm of the Bears. She has posted a 67-23-12 record in that time, including a 29-8-4. McNeill and the Bears have not lost an Ivy League game since 2018, going 18-0-2 in league action in that span.
- UAlbany is already two games into their 2022 season, having opened the campaign with a 2-1 win over Hofstra before dropping a 1-0 decision to La Salle. The game against the Bears will be the Great Danes' first road matchup of the season.
- Emily Jozak and Charlie Pawli were the goal scorers against Hofstra. Jozak was the team's leading scorer last season, while Pawli made 12 starts but didn't record a point.
- Megan Hart has started both games in goal for UAlbany, making 16 saves for a .889 save percentage.
- This will be the third overall meeting between the Bears and Great Danes. Before last year's 2-0 win, the only other matchup came in 2008, a 4-1 victory for Brown.
