Baseball to Welcome Harvard for Three-Game Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will conclude its scheduled seven-game homestand this weekend with a three-game series against the Harvard Crimson. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. while Sunday's single game will begin at noon.

Brown did not play a midweek game this week, and will look to end a four-game losing skid after dropping three games last weekend to first-place Penn.
Brown's two leading hitters, senior catcher Jacob Burley (.333) and freshman Mika Petersen (.326) rank eighth and ninth, respectively, in the Ivy League in batting average.
Petersen has a 15-game hitting streak entering this weekend and has reached base safely in 17 straight. He is third on the team in hits, and is tied for third with four steals.
Senior outfielder Derian Morphew has been consistent in the leadoff spot, tied for third in the Ivy League with 13 doubles this season. He has reached base in 17 of his last 18 games and has a hit in 16 of those games. He enters Saturday holding a five-game hitting streak.
Burley had his 22-game on-base streak snapped in Sunday's second game against Penn. He ranks sixth in the Ivy with a .432 on-base pct.
Freshman shortstop DJ Dillehay had his 14-game hitting streak snapped last Friday and his 16-game on-base streak snapped in game two on Saturday, but has still reached base in 16 of his last 17 games.
On the mound, senior Bobby Olsen and freshman Dylan Reid each pitched 6.2 innings of relief in last Saturday's doubleheader, each striking out a career-high 11 batters.
Olsen is tied for eighth in the league with 40 strikeouts.
Reid is ninth in the Ivy league by holding opponents to a .248 average.

SCOUTING HARVARD (12-20, 8-4 Ivy)

Harvard has spent a lot of time away from home this with this weekend's series being their final road series of the season.
Despite losing two of three at home to Cornell last weekend, the Crimson are tied for second place in the Ivy standings with Columbia, just one game behind Penn for the top spot.
Harvard leads the Ivy League in doubles (76) this season, and has clubbed 28 home runs, which ranks third.
As a team, Harvard ranks fourth in the Ivy League with a .268 batting average. They are fifth, one spot behind Brown, with a 6.66 ERA.
Saturday's game two starter Chris Clark is second in the Ivy with 63 strikeouts this season, and ranks 14th in the NCAA with 13.61 strikeouts per nine innings.
Game one starter Jay Driver is fourth in the Ivy League with 50 strikeouts and has struck out at least six batters in each of his last seven starts.
