Softball Set For Midweek Trip to Holy Cross

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball will take the drive up to Worcester, Mass., to play a midweek doubleheader at Holy Cross on Tuesday with first pitch at 3 p.m.
Both games of the doubleheader against the Crusaders will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT BROWN
- Brown is coming off a three-game sweep against Cornell this past weekend, the first three-game sweep in Ivy League play for the Bears.
- Lily Berlinger is on an 11-game reached base streak and is hitting .342 on the season. In 15 games, Berlinger has 13 hits and has an on-base percentage of .390. The freshman is tied for the team-lead with four stolen bases.
- Moe Kastens continues her hot bat at the plate, leading Brown with a .372 batting average, which is second in the Ivy League. Kastens hit .667 in the three-game series against Cornell and leads the team with five doubles. Kastens also have five walks on the season and has an on-base percentage of .429 (fifth in the Ivy League).
- Laurel Moody leads Brown with 19 hits and is hitting .275 on the year.
- Jasmine Hsiao continues to lead the Bears in runs scored (13), home runs (4) and walks (11). Hsiao's four home runs are tied for second in the Ivy League.
- Meghan Gormley and Dara English have each driven in a team-high nine runs and each have a home run. Both players have also collected 17 hits, second-most on the team.
- In the circle, Alexis Guevara holds a team-best 2.42 ERA after allowing just four runs over 14 innings against Cornell. Guevara has six wins on the season and threw two complete games against the Big Red. The sophomore leads the team with 86.2 innings pitched and 68 strikeouts to just 28 walks.
- Guevara is third in the Ivy League in ERA (2.42), second in strikeouts (68) and fifth in opposing batting average (.242).
- Jodie Aguirre is second on the team with a 3.39 ERA had threw a complete game against Cornell, the first complete game win over her career in Ivy League play.
ABOUT HOLY CROSS
- Holy Cross is 8-26 on the season and 0-9 in Patriot League play. The Crusaders are on a four-game losing streak and have lost seven of their last eight games with the lone win being a 1-0 win over Hartford in 13 innings.
- The Crusaders are led by Anna Brait with a .327 average and Ali Sniegocki is second on the team with a .308 average.
- Megan Yurchick leads the team with 96.1 innings pitched but has a 5.52 ERA and has 49 strikeouts to 47 walks.
AGAINST HOLY CROSS
- Brown swept the two-game series with Holy Cross last year in Providence. The Bears won the first game 16-2 in five innings before pulling out a 2-0 win the second game of the series.
