
Outdoor Track and Field Season Opens with Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Brown track and field teams officially kicked off the outdoor season this weekend with several throwers and mid-distance/distance runners competing at the Raleigh Relays. Sophomore Chidinma Agbasi led Brown in the hammer throw with a mark that landed her on the women's top-10 all-time performer's list.
MEN
Brown's men's team was represented by three throwers in sophomore Ronan Folan and first-years Liam Capozza and Cole Nesselson. Folan competed in the shot put (14.16m) and discus (43.99m), while Capozza (51.82m) competed in the hammer throw and Nesselson (58.14m) in the javelin.
WOMEN
The women's team was led by Agbasi in the hammer throw at 52.60 meters, which ranks No. 10 on the program's top performers list. Kenzii Phillips (40.46m) competed in the javelin and Zoe Carter-Konate competed in the shot put.
On the track, junior Stephanie Kriss narrowly missed a PR in the 800 meters by less than half a second in 2:13.57. Freshman Julia Schriefer set a PR in 2:17.35 and Emily Mrakovcic finished in 2:17.39.
Isolde McManus (4:33.15), Isa Stronski (4:34.21) and Nimrit Ahuja (4:34.64) competed in the 1500 meters, and Lily Harding led the Bears in the 5,000 meters.
Brown will return to action next weekend with athletes competing at two meets at the Colonial Relays at William & Mary, and the Black & Gold Invitational at Bryant.
