
Women Take Second, Men Finish Third at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Brown women's track and field team took home second place out of 35 teams, and the men's team finished third out of 41 teams at the Colonial Relays, which concluded on Saturday at the William & Mary.
The men got individual wins from Marcus Gillespie and a pair of top five finishes Daniel Sarisky, along with Zach Love posting the No. 9 time on the program's 200m dash list.
The women's team saw Lauren Yeboah-Kodie win the long jump and take second in the triple jump. Anjoli Mathew earned a win in the 400m hurdles, and the team got strong performances in the 10,000m where Emily Moini finished runner-up and Lily Harding placed third.
MEN
Gillespie captured first place overall out of 21 runners in the 110m hurdles, crossing the line first in 14.38 seconds, a new personal record and tying him for seventh on the program's top-10 list.
Sarisky took fifth place overall out of 64 runners in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 10.66, just one-hundredth off his PR, which ranks in the top seven on the program's all-time list. Sarisky also led the Bears with another strong race in the 200 meters, taking third place overall out of 56 in 21.42. He was joined in the top four by junior Love who set a new personal record in 21.52, which ties him for ninth all-time at Brown.
Jack Kelley won his heat and finished in third place overall out of 71 runners in the 400 meters with a personal-record time of 48.15. The Bears received strong performances from their 1500 meter runners, led by freshman John Farrell 3:56.93, sophomore Miles Mullins in 3:57.59 and sophomore Justin Hickey in 3:59.86, all new personal-bests.
Senior Nate Price had a big performance in the 5,000 meters, setting a new personal-best by winning the second heat and finishing eighth overall out of 49 runners in 14:28.44.
Geordie Young (9:36.56) set a new PR in the 3000m steeplechase. The Bears earned a second place finish from the 4x100m relay team of Gillespie, Love, Frank Monahan-Morang and Sarisky in 41.51 seconds. The 4x200m team took third place with Sarisky, Love, Kelley and Lowe combining for a time of 1:28.56.
WOMEN
Brown received huge performances from its runners in the 10,000m Invitational, placing three in the top eight overall. Moini and Harding both landed on the podium in second and third places, respectively, with Moini finishing in 36:27.89 and Harding in 36:28.42 in their first—ever collegiate 10K. Senior Grace Dorantes also scored points in eighth place overall in 36:43.58.
"To have four women faster in one race than we had any women all year last year is a testament to how much the distance team is growing and improving," distance coach Hannah Chappell-Dick said.
Brooke Ury finished third overall in the 100 meter hurdles, setting a new PR in 14.05 seconds, ranking sixth on the program's top performer's list. Yeboah-Kodie finished fifth overall in 14.23, ranking 10th on the all-time list.
Mathew took home first place overall out of 42 in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 1:02.29 for ninth on the school's all-time performers list. Senior Amy Willig set a new PR in 1:04.14 to finish in seventh place.
Emma Gallant PR-ed in the 100 meter dash (12.18) and scored team points in eighth place of the 200 meter dash in 24.56, leading Brown in both events. Jenna Lowrey ran 58.25 in the 400 meters to set a new personal-best. Emily Mrakovcic (2:17.80) set a new PR in the 800m Invitational.
Stephanie Kriss set a huge new personal record of 4:35.39 in the 1500m Invitational, finishing fifth overall out of 23. In the collegiate 1500m run, Sarah Reichheld also set a big PR of 4:46.52, finishing fifth out of 72.
Brown had two scorers in the top eight of the 5,000m Invitational, led by Isa Stronski in fifth place overall with a new PR of 17:07.4. Isolde McManus took home eighth place overall in 17:11.26, which also set a new PR.
Brown got points from its seventh place 4x100m relay team of Ury, Gallant, Yeboah-Kodie and Jaiden Stokes (47.55). The 4x200m team took runner-up with the sixth fastest-time in program history of 1:40.62 from Gallant, Ury, Stokes and Mathew.
In the jumps, Rudecia Bernard tied for second place in the high jump at 1.67 meters. Yeboah-Kodie won the long jump Invitational with a winning leap of 5.86m and took second place in the triple jump invite at 11.82m. Adrienne Usher leapt 5.45m to take third place in the collegiate long jump and Makaya Fofana (11.40m) took runner-up in the triple jump.
