
Baseball to Open Home Slate this Friday vs. Bryant

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After playing their first 10 games of the season on the road, the Brown baseball team is set to open its home schedule this Friday with a four-game set against Bryant at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium, with the first three games taking place Friday and Saturday.

HISTORY
- Brown is 6-13 against the Bulldogs since they moved up to the Division I level in 2009. The two teams played to a 14-10 midweek victory for Bryant last season in Providence.
SCOUTING BROWN (1-9)
- Brown returns home for the first time this season, coming off its first win of the season and three games that came down to the final out against Penn State last weekend in Cary, N.C.
- After dropping the first two games of the series in walk-off fashion, Brown rebounded and held off the Nittany Lions for a 4-3 win in Saturday's finale.
- The Bears were led by two senior captains in their series against PSU, with Ryan Marra and Jacob Burley combining to go 12-for-25 with four homers and eight RBIs in the three games.
- Nathan Brasher went 5-for-15 at the plate and Jared Johnson batted. 300 (3-for-10).
- Bobby Olsen, who is scheduled to start game two on Saturday, picked up the win over Penn State after allowing just one run on three hits over 5.0 innings of work.
- Jack Seppings is coming off a career-long 3.2 inning performance against Penn State where he allowed just one infield hit and struck out five.
- Bryant is riding a four-game winning streak after sweeping Davidson in a three-game set last weekend.
- The Bulldogs also won a game at Liberty (8-2) and won one out of three games at then-No. 14 Virginia Tech.
- As a team, Bryant is hitting .238 and has averaged 10.0 runs per game over its current winning streak.
- Infielder John Hosmer was named the America East Player of the Week after going 6-for-12 with two home runs and seven RBIs last weekend at Davidson.
- The pitching staff holds a 6.24 ERA.
