Men's Hockey Closes Homestand Against St. Lawrence, Clarkson

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's hockey (8-11-2, 4-8-2 ECAC) return to action and close out the six-game homestand as they host the St. Lawrence Saints (13-13-0, 8-6-0 ECAC) on Friday and the Clarkson Golden Knights (11-12-3, 5-7-2 ECAC) on Saturday.
Both games this weekend are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with an 8-11-2 overall record and 4-8-2 ECAC mark. The Bears sit eighth in the ECAC standings and are two points behind Clarkson for seventh.
- Freshman Ryan Bottrill leads the team with 16 points and is tied for the team-lead in goals (6) with James Crossman and assists with Luke Krys.
- As a team, Brown scores 2.48 goals per game to rank eighth in the conference. Brown's power play clicks at 20.0% with 13 goals in 65 attempts to rank eighth in the conference and 29th in the NCAA.
- Between the pipes, Hobey nominee Mathieu Caron has started all 21 games this season. He ranks ninth in the nation with a .924 save percentage and 23rd in the NCAA with a 2.33 goals against average.
- As a team, Brown ranks fifth in the conference and 17th in the country with 2.57 goals against per game.
- Brown's penalty kill enters the weekend at 77.2% to rank ninth in the conference.
- St. Lawrence enters the weekend with a 13-13-0 overall record and 8-6-0 ECAC mark. The Saints snapped a three-game skid with consecutive 4-2 wins over Clarkson last weekend.
- Junior Luc Salem leads the Saints in goals (8), assists (12), and points (20). There are five other Saints with double-digit points this season.
- As a team, the Saints average 2.46 goals per game to rank ninth in the conference and 47th in the NCAA.
- St. Lawrence's power play has struck for 14 goals in 95 attempts (14.7%) to rank 51st in the nation.
- Defensively, St. Lawrence holds opponents to 2.88 goals per game to rank 27th in the country. Goaltender Emil Zetterquist has started all 26 games and holds a 2.68 goals against average and .901 save percentage.
- The Saints' penalty kill has surrendered 22 goals in 103 attempts (78.6%) to rank 38th in the nation.
- Friday marks the 100th meeting between Brown and St. Lawrence in a series dating back to 1952.
- The Saints hold the series edge, 51-33-15. Brown has a 4-3-3 record in the last 10 meetings.
- Clarkson enters the weekend with an 11-12-3 overall record and 5-7-2 ECAC mark. The Golden Knights suffered consecutive 4-2 losses against St. Lawrence last weekend.
- Mathieu Gosselin and Anthony Callin are tied for the team-lead in goals (9) with Ayrton Martino leading the team with 21 assists and 27 points. Including Martino, ten Golden Knights have 10 or more points this season.
- As a team, Clarkson ranks sixth in the conference and 31st in the nation with 2.77 goals scored per game. Clarkson's power play clicks at 19.0% (16-84) to rank seventh in the ECAC and 32nd in the nation.
- Defensively, Clarkson allows 2.81 goals per game to rank sixth in the conference and 31st in the NCAA. Goaltender Ethan Haider has made 25 starts and holds a 2.72 goals against average and .901 save percentage.
- Clarkson's penalty kill has allowed 20 goals in 95 attempts (78.9%) to rank sixth in the conference and 36th in the NCAA.
- Saturday night marks the 102nd meeting between Brown and Clarkson in a series dating back to 1952. Clarkson owns the series edge, 72-19-10.
- Brown swept its first home weekend in six weeks with a 6-2 win over Union (Jan. 13) and a 3-0 win over Rensselaer (Jan. 14) last weekend at Meehan Auditorium.
- Five Bears recorded multiple points in the win over Union, led by Grandberg's goal and three assists.
- Mathieu Caron recorded 24 saves in both wins, recording his second shutout of the season and fourth of his career against RPI.
- The Bears posted a 4-2-0 record in January to climb back into the thick of the ECAC Standings with a month remaining.
- Brown sits eighth in the standings with 16 league points and trail Clarkson by two points for seventh and Princeton by four points for sixth.
- Senior James Crossman enters the weekend with a goal in four of his last five games.
- The Denver, Colorado native found the back of the net in Brown's wins over Merrimack (1/7), Union (1/13), RPI (1/14), and Harvard (1/21).
- Crossman is tied for the team-lead in goals with six alongside freshman Ryan Bottrill. His eight points are tied for eighth on the team and fourth among defensemen.
- Captain Luke Krys recorded a goal and three assists last weekend to push his season total to 12 points.
- The Ridgefield, Connecticut native is tied for the team-lead in assists with 10 alongside freshman Ryan Bottrill. Krys' 12 points are tied for second-most on the team alongside sophomore Brett Bliss.
- Brown knocked off Harvard on Saturday (Jan. 21) for the team's third win over a top-10 opponent this season.
- Brown captured the Mayor's Cup with a 3-2 win over eighth-ranked Providence (Nov. 26), took a 6-2 road win at eighth-ranked Merrimack (Jan. 7), and took a 3-2 home win over ninth-ranked Harvard (Jan. 21).
