Football Hits the Road to Face Columbia on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown football team will hit the road for the final time in 2023 to take on Columbia on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. on ESPN+ and will be broadcast regionally on SNY.

Matchup History
OPENING KICKOFF
- Brown ranks third in the Ivy League with 27.6 points per game and boasts the league's No. 1 passing offense (310.8).
- Columbia is allowing 18.4 points per game (2nd fewest in Ivy), and 190.3 yards through the air, third fewest in the league, however the Lions have allowed a season-high 35 and 38 points to Yale and Harvard in their last two games.
- Columbia has won five of the last six matchups between the two, with Brown's lone win coming in New York in 2019.

- Isaiah Reed leads the Ivy league with four interceptions this season, while Aubrey Parker is tied for second with three.
- Parker leads the Ivy League in passes defended (10), with Hobbs, DeVeau and Reed all tied for second with nine each.
- Treyvon Hobbs (8) and Cooper DeVeau (8) are tied for the league lead with eight pass breakups.

- Brown has alternated results each week this season, and has not had back-to-back wins or losses.
- Brown has never had a season (minimum 5 games) where they have not won or lost consecutive games.

- Brown's three interceptions vs. Yale last weekend was the team's first game with three picks since a three INT performance at Dartmouth on November 12, 2016.

- Brown ranks 13th in the nation and second in the Ivy League on third down conversions at 47.5 percent.
FOURTH DOWN DEFENSE
- Brown was the only team in all of FCS to have not allowed a fourth down conversion until Oct. 21 at Cornell, when the Big Red went 2-for-2. Opponents are now 4-for-9 this season, ranking the Bears 3rd in the league on 4th down defense and 27th in FCS.
PENCHANT FOR BIG PLAYS
- Brown's defense and special teams have allowed 15 touchdowns this season of 35 yards of greater, including five of 50+ yards.
- Opponents have scored a touchdown of 43 yards or greater in six of the last seven games and 50+ in four of the last six (includes defensive scores).
FIGHTING TIL THE END
- The Bears have trailed in the fourth quarter in two of their four wins this year, twice either tying the game or taking the lead in the final minute (Bryant and Princeton).
