ITHACA, N.Y. - The Brown women's hockey team fell 5-1 at No. 10 Cornell on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Sam Broz scored her second goal of the season for the Bears (3-5-0, 2-4-0 ECAC), while five different players found the back of the net for the Big Red (8-0-1, 4-0-0 ECAC).

Brown played a hard-nosed first period, keeping the Big Red off the board for most of the first 20 minutes. Cornell then scored with less than a minute left in the first to take a 1-0 advantage.

The Big Red netted two more goals in the early going of the second period to extend their lead to 3-0. Broz broke through for the Bears at the 7:15 mark of the second with an unassisted goal.

Cornell responded with one more goal in the second and added another in the third to finish things off.

Brown returns to the ice for a home weekend beginning with RPI on Friday at 6 p.m.
