Women's Hockey Renews Mayor's Cup Against Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Brown hosts Providence College for the Mayor's Cup on Saturday at Meehan Auditorium. The Bears are 5-6-1 on the season with a 4-5-1Â in the ECAC and are receiving votes in the latest USA Hockey poll after leading much of the game and coming away with a tie at No. 5 Clarkson.
Saturday marks the first non-conference game for the Bears since October 14 when Brown played at Holy Cross. Providence enters the game with a 4-9-0 record but are 3-2 in their last five.
Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and TSN+ in Canada. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Meehan Auditorium. Fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

Scouting the Bears
- Brown is receiving one vote in the USA Hockey poll after a 0-1-1 weekend where they tied No. 5 Clarkson last Friday.
- The Bears are currently in seventh in the ECAC standings with a 4-5-1 record and 13.5 points.
- Scoring for Brown at Clarkson were sophomore Gali Levy for the first of her career, freshman Margot Norehad and sophomore Jade Iginla.
- Sophomore India McDadi (6 goals, 3 assists) and Iginla (5 goals, 4 assists) are tied for the team lead with nine points.
- Freshmen Margot Norehad (3 goals, 3 assists) and Sam Broz (2 goals, 4 assists) each have six points.
- In goal, Senior Kaley Doyle has a 2.22 goals against average and a .925 save percentage in 10 starts.
Scouting the Friars
- Providence is coming off a 2-1 victory against Boston University.
- After losing seven of their first eight games, the Friars are 3-2 in their last five.
- Providence was swept by both Quinnipiac and St. Lawrence in October before starting Hockey East play.
- The Friars average 1.5 goals per game and allow 3.0.
- Freshman Audrey Knapp leads the team with four goals and adds two assists for six points, while senior KC Brooks has three goals and two assists.
- Senior Mireille Kingsley and junior Hope Walinski have split time in goal this season. Kingsley has a 2.34 GAA and .898 SV%, while Mireille has a 3.04 GAA and .887 SV%.Â
All-Time Series
- Saturday marks the 70th meeting between Brown and Providence dating back to 1976.
- The Friars hold a 42-24-3 all-time record and have won eight straight in the series.
- The Bears are 13-19-2 at Meehan Auditorium against PC.
- Brown won five-straight games from 2000 to 2002.
