Men's Water Polo Bears Long Island in First Round of NWPC Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown men's water polo took down Long Island in the first round of the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Tournament, 19-8.
Brown was led by three goals each from Ilias Stothart and Nick Berry. Máté Tymcyna, Goran Narancic, and Daniel Hadar each had two goals. Joe Gallagher had five saves in goal for the Bears.
The Bears jumped out to an early 4-0 lead with goals from Narancic, Hadar and Nick and Mac Berry. Brown pushed its lead to 5-0 with a goal from Nick Berry early in the second quarter. After a goal by the Sharks, Brown scored five-straight goals coming from Jaxson Tierney, Evan Moore, Hadar, Tymcyna and Nick Berry to go up 10-1.
Up 10-6, Brown rattled off seven-straight goals to put the game away.
UP NEXT
Brown will take on Harvard in the semifinals beginning at 2 p.m.
