Men's Water Polo Readies for NWPC Tournament at Harvard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo heads to Harvard for the Northeast Water Polo Conference Tournament over the weekend. The Bears enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face off against Long Island in the first round on Friday.
The matchup against the Sharks is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
Brown finished the season with a 6-4 record in the NWPC play, falling only to Harvard and Princeton.
The Bears are led on offense by Ilias Stothart, who has 84 goals on the season. Stothart has also drawn a team-high 112 ejections and 38 penalties.
Gabe Chang is second on the team with 57 goals and has handed out 36 assists. Jaxson Tierney is third on the team in goals with 54 and leads the team with 38 assists in his first season on College Hill.
In goal, Kole Newman leads the squad with 198 saves and Joe Gallagher is second with 97.
Brown won both meetings with Long Island this season. The Bears picked up a 15-11 win in the first meeting on the road and won 18-9 at home in the most recent contest.
With a win Brown would play the winner of Harvard and Connecticut College in the semifinals.
