Water Polo Celebrates Senior Day with Win Over Connecticut College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo beat Connecticut College as the Bears celebrated Senior Day on Saturday. Brown honored seniors Joe Gallagher, Filip Aleksic, Thomas Hoffmeister, Evan Moore, Mike Winther and Nick Berry on the final day of the regular season.
FORDHAM 16, BROWN 7
The Bears were led by three goals from Gabe Chang and two from Ilias Stothart but a strong third quarter by Fordham downed the Bears in the first game of the day.
Brown trailed by two at the half with Chang scoring two first half goals and Stothart, Nick Berry and Daniel Hadar each tallying one. In the third quarter, Brown was held scoreless as the Rams netted six goals to break open the game. Chang and Stothart scored in the fourth but the Bears could not mount a comeback.
BROWN 15, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 6
The Bears closed out their regular season with a 15-6 win over Connecticut College. Filip Aleksic led Brown with four goals and 10 Bears had goals in the game.
Brown led 4-3 after the first quarter with goals from Aleksic, Thomas Hoffmeister, Evan Moore and Mike Winther.
The Bears started to pull away in the second quarter with goals from Aleksic, Winther and two from Daniel Khristich as Brown outscored the Camels 4-.
Two goals from Aleksic and one from Joe Gallagher pushed the lead to 11-5 after three quarters.
Isaac Fernandez-Lopez, Roberto Serrano, Ilias Stothart and Ryan Miele all scored goals in the fourth quarter and the Bears won the fourth 4-1 for the final tally.
UP NEXT
Brown will be headed to Harvard for the Northeast Water Polo Conference Tournament next weekend. The Bears will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will take No. 6 seed Long Island on Friday at 5 p.m.
