PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 18 Brown men's water polo fell 14-7 to No. 6 Princeton on Saturday afternoon as NWPC play continues for the Bears.
Máté Tymcyna led the Bears with three goals, while Mac Berry added two for Brown. Jaxson Tierney and Nick Berry also scored for Brown.
"While the score did not reflect our improvement from the last time, we saw some things we need to continue to improve on," said head coach Felix Mercado. "Ilias Stothart against showed why he is the best center in our conference, drawing 13 exclusions, but we aren't going to win many games where we go 3-for-15 on our power play. We also didn't defend the power play well as Princeton went 8-for-11. They are too good of a team for us not to be better. We need to rebound and get back on track tomorrow.
Princeton jumped on the Bears early, going up 4-1 after one quarter and 6-2 at the half. Brown was outscored 4-3 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth for the final tally.
